This training will provide an overview of the Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology in Postsecondary Education (QIAT-PS) and a new curriculum designed to teach students how to make decisions about their accommodations (including assistive technology) in the context of career planning. The target audience for the curriculum is students with disabilities who are seniors in high school or 18-22 year olds in K-12 transition programs who plan to attend some kind of postsecondary training to prepare for the careers they want. Through whole group presentations and discussion, participants will learn about the 10 QIAT-PS indicators and new research that extends the indicators. In small groups, school teams will then explore all 8 units of the curriculum lessons and activities and provide feedback to the curriculum team. Finally, following a short presentation on implementation and capacity building, teams will design a Fall 2024 curriculum implementation plan for one or more students with pre/post data collection.
